Childbirth Refresher and Sibling Education Series

This class series is designed for families preparing once again for pregnancy and birth, this time with the involvement of older siblings. This series consists of 3 classes, 3hrs each in length. The first two classes are designed for parents and the third class is for the whole family! We begin with a childbirth refresher for second-time parents and end with a hands-on workshop for siblings. Please see our September and November schedules below:

Instructors:

Carlee Ann Brown, MSM, LM, CPM

Carlee Ann Brown is a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in the state of California. She has been involved in women’s healthcare since 2009. She began her career as a prenatal and postpartum Certified Massage Therapist and Doula. She supported and guided women and families through the childbearing process in home, birth center, and hospital settings. Her undergraduate degree is a combination of Biology, Kinesiology, and Holistic Health from San Francisco State University. Carlee Ann graduated from Bastyr University’s Midwifery Program in 2015 with a MS in Midwifery. Carlee Ann currently works at Pacifica Family Maternity Center in Berkeley.

Natalie Anaya

Natalie Anaya has been an early childhood educator for 4 years, working with children ages 2-5.  She did her Birth Doula training with Natural Resources in 2012 and soon after became a volunteer doula with San Francisco General Hospital, where she remains active today.  It was in 2013 that Natalie attended her first birth as a sibling doula, combining her experience in child development with her understanding of labor and birth to provide safe, nurturing and age-appropriate preparedness and support to a new big brother. Natalie has her BA in Environmental Humanities from Whitman College and continues to explore through her work as a sibling doula and teacher the human relationship to nature and natural processes.  Currently, Natalie is a Pre-K teacher at Calvary Nursery School in San Francisco.
